Dead, Dying, Poorly Placed and  Hazard Tree Removal

We understand that tree removal is a necessary part of our industry, but we feel many people and companies are too quick to just remove perfectly good trees. So, we are trying to change that by being more restrictive about removals. We only consider removal of  trees which are dead, dying, hazardous or improperly placed/not viable long term and will cause the need for removal in the future. We may not be your best option if you want all your trees cut down for lesser reasons, but I assure you, there are other companies out there who would be happy to do it... just not us.

Ornamental and Fine Pruning

What has to be our favorite and most preferred work we do is the preservation, restoration and training of your small medium and large trees. We specialize in it actually!  Considered to be living sculptures, trees are always moving, growing and changing. Expert pruning requires an artistic eye and knowledge of the trees growth patterns as well as responses to pruning in order to properly train and prune these trees into beautiful specimens. We go above and beyond for the care and management of your trees and shrubs. All work is completed up to the current ISA standards for pruning and trimming. No tree is too big or small for us and we look forward to showing you just how magnificent your trees can be after just one trim. We also offer restoration pruning for trees that have been incorrectly pruned hacked or damaged, whether accidentally or on purpose. Trees have a remarkable will to survive but restoration pruning is often overlooked as many people do not know the best way to reboot a damaged tree but we do and would love to help!

Hedge Creation and Management

Not usually a tree worker's favorite job, hedge maintaince and creation is a large part of our clientele. Hedges provide great screen and privacy, but require multiple trims a year to achieve the picturesque hedge you see in your mind. Hedge trees are chosen for their density and quick growth, but with that speedy growth comes the need for trimming more often than one may think. A nice well maintained hedge should be getting trimmed at least once a year. The longer you wait to trim a hedge the longer and more costly the trimming will ultimately be, as it is almost like staring over from the beginning once you've lost the shape and form we work so hard to maintain.

Tree Salvage, Relocation

We love to save and salvage your trees and shrubs which might otherwise be cut down due to size and location. It's a case by case situation, and it's not our primary focus, but we do love saving what we can.

If you have a large tree to move there are options. There is some huge tree moving equipment available though the cost is high. We would be happy to try and help give you the best info and connections to make a large tree transplant successful.

Manpower is our preferred method for most salvage jobs that we take on. Though we offer limited planting and salvage, we unfortunately can't offer any guarantees of survival. There are many factors that come into play with any new planting or transplanted tree that are out of our control, but we do our absolute best to try and make each one a success. Reach out for a free quote if you have a tree that would be a good candidate to salvage/relocate instead of cutting it down.

With our climate becoming more and more erratic, pests and diseases are now reaching much further into areas than they have ever been found in the past. Correct diagnosis is a must for both treatment and preservation (if your tree is lucky enough to be saved from treatment ) or more importantly disposal of contaminated wood and tree debris which can harbor and spread the disease or pests further contaminating more neighboring trees and shrubs previously unaffected. Catching and diagnosing these issues is paramount in the preservation of you and your neighboring trees!

ABOUT

My name is Michael Montanti and I'm the owner/ operator of Giving Tree Arbor Care. I've met many people and done various tree work over the last two decades through my first company as an operating partner and crew lead with Superior Nw Tree and Shrub Care and now as Giving Tree Arbor Care.  Here at Giving Tree we focus on the health and preservation of all viable trees on your property, neighboring trees on vacant lots/greenspaces and neighbor's trees. Since all can have a large impact on your home and property, if they are improperly pruned, damaged or fail, we can help guide you in the right direction for the best options or work towards restoration.  When surrounding trees are pruned and maintained correctly and beautifully they contribute to increasing curb appeal, energy efficiency an overall home values.

We approach tree care a bit differently compared to many other companies as we are a two person operation now that I have taken on an apprentice whom also has a fantastic eye for tree care and loves the work. It allows me more flexibility and to be more accommodating with clients who have demanding schedules or concern about a large crew tromping through their manicured yard and flower beds. Most work I perform now is with my apprentice involved though in the event that more help and hands are required to perform a job safely, I have multiple peers and companies I work with who can join me in performing your jobs to the highest ISA standards of both safety and pruning techniques.

Though we strive to keep your trees around as long as possible we are also able to make the determination if one or many of your beloved trees should be removed for safety or long term viability sake. We are quite adimate about not removing trees for superficial reasons especially in the city setting and feel that its all our jobs to live with and manage our trees for long term environmental safety and viability!  I advocate time and again for "the right tree for the right space" and there's so many reasons people want trees removed like  "they're messy" or "they scare me " or "it blocks my view" unfortunately those reasons are very low on the list of good reasons to remove most trees in our eyes. I assure you you will be able to find many companies who will remove whatever trees you want gone. It just won't be us!

Ive been in the tree care industry for over 20 years here in the PNW and am an ISA certified Arborist (ISA # PN-6358A). I have done most everything involved with large and small tree pruning, planting, zero impact and hazard removals, hedges, storm cleanup, stump grinding and tree salvage!

Giving Tree Arbor Care is here to help beautify and preserve your trees and to only remove if all our other options have been exhausted. We will also be the first to advise you in removing a dead, dying or poorly placed (wrong for its spot) tree that will only become more difficult or hazardous to remove in the future.  Living with trees in an urban setting is a delicate balance and I aim to help all my customers understand the best options for what trees they have or may want!
